8th December Advent titbit:

The festive spirit doesn't just bring out the best in individuals - it also encourages acts of kindness from countries.

Each year since 1918, the Canadian province of Nova Scotia sends the city of Boston a Christmas tree as away of saying thanks for supporting them through an explosives accident. Similarly, the Norwegian city of Oslo also sends a Christmas tree to the UK as a token of gratitude for its support during World War II.
